This online utility lets you cut a fragment from a GIF animation and shorten its length (and duration). You can extract a slice from an animation by cutting a frame interval or a time interval. You can view the extracted slice in your browser and download the new GIF with the new length in one click. Created by GIF experts from team Browserling.

This is a browser-based program that extracts a range of frames or a specific time fragment from an animated GIF. You can cut out a piece from the beginning, from the middle, or from the end of a GIF. The first option lets you cut a GIF by a frame range and the second option lets you cut a GIF by a time interval (in seconds). For example, if you need to create a new GIF that contains only the first 10 frames, then you can select the "Cut a Frame Range" cutting mode and enter values "1" and "10" as frame range values. To extract frames 5th to 16th from the middle of a GIF, you can enter numbers "5" and "16" as the start and end range values. Similarly, if a GIF has 65 frames, you can drop frames from the beginning and extract only the end part of a GIF if you enter a range "50" to "65". If you select the second cutting mode that is called "Cut a Time Range", then you can extract a precise time part from a GIF. For example, if you set the start time to 1 second and the end time to 3.5 seconds, then you'll get a new GIF with a length of 2.5 seconds in the output. Similar to cutting a frame range, you can extract the first 2 seconds of a GIF if you enter "0s" as the starting clock time and "2s" as the ending clock time. To extract the last 3 seconds of a GIF that has a length of 8.5 seconds, you can enter values "5.5" as the start time and "8.5" as the end time. To make a perfect cut, you can use the "Live Cut Preview" option. This option will loop the cut animation in the output preview field. The "Paused Cut Preview" option will stop the animation at one specific frame. This option lets you compare the original GIF and the cut GIF at the same time. After a cut is made, you can see the input and output GIF parameters in the "GIF Info" options area. You can download the cut GIF video fragment from the output field by clicking on the "Save as" button. Gifabulous!

In this example, we cut out a range of frames from the middle of a GIF video clip. The original input GIF has 40 frames (and its length is 4.8 seconds) and we extract frames 18 to 37. This way, we discard the part of the video where glasses that are on top of a notebook are moved to the side. As the cutting range is inclusive, the output GIF file has 20 frames (37-18+1), which is exactly half the frames of the input GIF file, and its length is 2.4 seconds. (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we cut out a GIF animation fragment between two timestamps. We set the start timestamp of the cut to 2.1 seconds and the end timestamp of the cut to 3.3 seconds. The difference is 1.2 seconds (3.3s - 2.1s) that is now the new duration of the cut GIF. The new GIF is also shorter with just 12 frames that show a super satisfied cat after a meal. In this example, we skip the first 13 frames from a GIF and make a cut from the 14th frame to the last frame. We enter "14" in the start-frame field and leave the end-frame field empty. An empty end-frame field means the last frame (similarly, an empty start-frame field means the first frame). In the output, we get only the part of the animation where a person puts a meringue back on a plate. (Source: Pexels.)
