This online utility lets you play, pause and download individual frames in GIFs. It works with both animated and static GIFs. When you load an animated GIF, it will show how many frames it has and you'll be able to control how fast it gets played (frames per second) and specify which frame you want to download. This is a browser-based GIF player that also lets you extract individual still images from GIFs. You can load a GIF on the left and it will immediately start playing and extract the first frame on the right. You can stop playing by unselecting the playback option, you can view the animation in reverse by enabling the reverse playback option, and you can change which frame gets extracted by changing the frame capture number option. It also works with static GIFs that only contain a single frame. In this case, the player is disabled as there's nothing to play. To download the extracted GIF, click save-as on the right and click download. Gifabulous!

In this example, we're loading a GIF of Bender showing his dance moves. As soon as this example loads, we capture the 14th frame and enable the GIF viewer that plays the GIF at its original speed of 80 milliseconds per frame. You can use the Save As - Download button to save this GIF frame. (GIF source: Giphy.)
In this example, we view a GIF of a rotating (upside-down) Earth. We set a custom playback speed of 4 frames per second (250ms per frame), which is slower than the original GIF, and also enable the reverse viewer option that shows the GIF animation from the last frame to the first. We also set the output to display the 42nd frame, which shows Africa. (GIF source: Wikipedia.)
This example opens a static GIF file. Static GIFs aren't animated and contain just a single frame and they can't be played. In this case, this single frame is the beginning of a snow fox jump. (GIF source: Tenor.)
