Distance between frames.
Starting frame number.
Enter GIF frames to delete. For example, "1, 2, 5" or "9-20".

Maintain Original Speed

Make sure that after deleting the frames the GIF duration does not change. (This is done by increasing frame delays of the remaining frames.)
If the "Preserve GIF Duration" option is on, then both input and output GIFs will be synchronized in the preview player and always start the animation together from frame 1 in the player.

What Is a GIF Frame Remover?

This is a browser-based program that removes frames from animated GIF files. It offers two modes for deleting frames. The first is called "Delete Every n-th Frame", which lets you delete every n-th frame starting from a particular frame. This mode periodically removes equidistant frames. For example, you can delete all odd frames if you set the distance to 2 and the starting frame to 1. In this case, the following frames get deleted: 1, 3, 5, 7, …. You can also delete all even frames if you set the distance to 2 and the starting frame also to 2. In this case, the following frames get deleted: 2, 4, 6, 8, …. Similarly, you can remove every third, fourth, or n-th frame from a GIF. With this mode, you can optimize your GIF animation as it reduces GIF's size. The second mode is called "Delete These Frames" and it's paired with the option "Frames to Delete". Here, you can enter specific frames that you want to get rid of. For example, if you enter "2, 7, 45", then frames two, seven, and forty-five will get discarded. This option also accepts a range – for example, "10-40" will cut a range of frames from a GIF. You can combine a frame range with individual frames and enter something like "5-10, 24, 39". In this case, frames five to ten (inclusive) and frames twenty-four and thirty-nine will get cut. This mode allows you to quickly discard the beginning or end of a GIF, cut out the middle part of an animation, or remove just a couple of static frames from a GIF. It's also helpful for getting rid of damaged and unwanted frames and thinning out GIFs. By deleting frames of the GIF, the total play time of the animation decreases as there are fewer frames to play, and the animation also appears to play faster. If you want the GIF duration to remain unchanged, then activate the "Preserve GIF Duration" option. It evenly distributes the frame delays of the deleted frames to the remaining frames and the animation playback time remains the same as in the initial GIF. All changes to the shortened GIF can be previewed in the browser and can be compared to the input GIF. With the "Stop GIF Animation" option you can freeze the GIF animation at any frame and then resume playing it at the same frame. Also, in the GIF information column, you can see the status of the unmodified and modified GIFs in real-time. This column contains the total frame count, the current frame that's being animated, the duration of the animation, and the delay value in milliseconds between the last and previous frame. After editing the GIF, you can quickly download it through the save as button. Gifabulous!

Delete Odd GIF Frames

In this example, we thin out the input GIF by removing every second frame starting from the first frame. Thus, out of 18 frames of the imported GIF, only 9 even frames remain: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18. Also, the GIF's size is reduced twice and the playback speed increases by two, and as a result, the wind turbine spins faster. (Source: Living Stills.)

Distance between frames.

Remove Start and End

In this example, we load a GIF with a countdown to Mars and cut the start and end parts of the animation. We select the "Delete These Frames" option and remove the first 5 frames from the beginning of the GIF and the last 4 frames from the end of the GIF. The shortened GIF contains only 5 frames with a countdown from 5 to 1. (Source: NASA.)

Enter GIF frames to delete. For example, "1, 2, 5" or "9-20".

Get Rid of GIF's Second Half

In this example, we remove half of all frames from the end of a GIF. The total number of frames in the input GIF is 48 and we remove the frame range 24-48. This way, only the first half of the GIF stays (with frame numbers 1 to 23). We also synchronize animations and make the output GIF have the same length (in seconds) as the original GIF by activating the "Preserve GIF Duration" option. (Source: NASA.)

Required options
These options will be used automatically if you select this example.
Enter GIF frames to delete. For example, "1, 2, 5" or "9-20".
