This online utility lets you delete extra empty space around GIF animations. In the tool options, you can pick the edges of the GIF you want to clean up (left, right, top, and bottom) and enter how much space to remove from each edge. You can also preview both the original GIF and the new version (with space removed) side-by-side to visually compare the changes. Created by GIF experts from team Browserling.

This browser-based program allows you to remove empty space around static and animated GIFs. When you upload a GIF, the tool scans each frame and finds any extra transparent area around the sides. Then it lets you fine-tune the selection and delete this space out so your GIF only shows the important part. It's also able to find solid color areas around sides and remove those as well. A lot of GIFs, especially ones made from screen recordings or video clips, have blank borders or margins. Sometimes that's because of the original file, sometimes it's from how they were saved. Those empty spaces make your GIF look misaligned and unprofessional when shared online. With this tool, you can fix this problem and make them professional again. You can precisely control how many empty pixels to trim from each side of the GIF via the "External Space Offsets" options. For example, you can remove 20 empty pixels from all sides (left, right, top, and bottom) to get rid of a colored border, or trim only one side (where extra space exists) to center the main subject. A GIF can be animated (containing multiple frames) or static (with a single frame) – the tool works with both formats. If it's animated, you can also play it from start to finish via the inline GIF player. Additionally, you can check the width and height of the updated GIF in the technical info section to make sure you removed the right amount of pixels. If you need to add space around a GIF rather than remove it, try our Add Space Around GIF tool. Gifabulous!

In this example, we remove a large amount of transparent space surrounding a Metal Slug Gigant sprite. When the animation was created, the wrong canvas size was entered in the export options, and as a result, it's totally oversized, making the Slug Giant appear tiny. To fix this issue, we use our tool to precisely cut 100 pixels from the left, right, top, and bottom sides, creating a compact, borderless GIF that minimizes unused pixel data for faster loading times. This example shows a GIF with the animated phrase "keep going" moving across a pink background with a black border. We don't really care about the background or borders, so we want to delete this part from the GIF. To do it, we use the interactive inline GIF player to manually set the offsets of non-important parts of the GIF. In this case, the dimensions of the non-important parts are 75px on the left, 77px on the right, 79px at the top, and 85px at the bottom. This configuration eliminates the outer areas and brings the animation's focus solely to the text. (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we upload a static GIF of a green-leafed plant and remove 112 pixels of space from the left side only, leaving the other three sides unchanged. This modification shifts the plant toward the center of the frame, creating a more balanced composition. It's a quick way to fix off-center subjects without resizing or stretching the image.
