This online utility lets you speed up a GIF animation. You can increase the playback speed by 2x, 3x, or by a custom speed-up percentage in the options. You can also use the gradual speed increase option that will accelerate the animation and make it go faster and faster frame-by-frame. Two neat autoplay windows let you view the framerate differences of input and output GIFs before downloading. Created by GIF experts from team Browserling.

This is a browser-based program that makes an animated GIF go faster. Increasing the speed of a GIF is done by decreasing its frame delay value. The shorter the delay, the faster the frames are switched on the screen, and the faster you can see everything that happens in the animation. For example, a delay of 500ms displays each GIF frame on the screen for 0.5 seconds (half a second), which means its framerate is 2 frames per second. If we accelerate it by 400%, then we effectively reduce the delay 4 times. The frames will now be displayed on the screen for only 0.125 seconds (one-eighth of a second), and the framerate of the GIF will be 8 frames per second. With this tool, you can quickly double or triple your GIF video playback speed with just one click in the options. The radio box "Make a GIF 2x Faster" increases the framerate to 200% and the radio box "Make a GIF 3x Faster" increases the framerate to 300%. To set a different speed for a GIF, use the custom speed-up mode. The new speed can be set in percentage, starting from 100% (the original speed of a GIF) and you can increase it to any value. Just so you know, various browsers limit the minimum frame delay to 15ms (approximately 66 frames per second). If you go lower than 15ms, then browsers forcefully set it to 100ms and your animation can even start going slower. If you want to get a smooth fade-in-like speed-up effect, you can use the option "Smooth Speed-up". This option decreases individual frame delays separately one by one in order. The first frame gets the original speed, the next one is a bit faster, then the next one again is a little bit faster, and the last is at the fastest speed (that you entered in the options). With this option, a GIF gradually accelerates. The animations with old and new speeds can be previewed in the built-in browser GIF player. The exact numerical values of GIF delays and durations are printed in the read-only options section. Gifabulous!

In this example, we wanted to create an animated screensaver for the music composition we were listening to. The song was running at a faster pace than the GIF animation, so we used this program to speed up the GIF. We choose the "Make a GIF 2x Faster" mode and got an accelerated animation. The input GIF had a frame delay of 160ms and the output GIF now has a frame delay of 80ms. (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we use an animation of peeling a banana to demonstrate the smooth speed-up option. The original GIF video clip plays at the speed of 600ms per frame. With the smooth speed-up option turned on, we gradually increase the GIF framerate by 3x (300%). As a result, the first frame has the same original delay of 600ms, the second – 520ms, the third – 459ms, …, the last one – 200ms (3x faster), and the banana gets peeled quicker and quicker with every frame. The snail in this animation is so slow that we don't have the patience to watch the video to the end. To make the snail faster, we increase the animation playback speed by 400% (which is 4x) using the custom speed-up mode. The input GIF lasts 7 seconds but now the new output GIF lasts only 1.75 seconds. (Source: Pexels.)
