This online utility lets you create a round GIF animation from an existing GIF. You can move and resize the circular mask that selects the GIF's content interactively using your mouse, or you can set precise numeric values for the diameter of the the rounded GIF (or width/height if you're creating an oval GIF) in the options. You can also add a colorful border with arbitrary thickness around your rounded GIF to highlight it. Created by GIF experts from team Browserling.

This browser-based program converts regular rectangular or square GIFs into round GIFs by removing all pixels outside a defined circular (or oval) path. The use cases include creating round, animated avatars and stickers for social media, oval-shaped thumbnails for websites, and circular icons for apps. It works equally well with animated GIFs (containing multiple frames) and also static GIFs (containing a single frame), and supports both opaque and transparent GIF formats. Right after uploading your GIF, you'll see it in the interactive editor with a circular overlay on top of it. You can adjust this overlay using your mouse: you can resize and move it around. The contents inside the overlay will be highlighted so that you can precisely see what you have selected. Alternatively, you can fine-tune the dimensions of the circle using options: you can set its position via the horizontal and vertical offsets, and define its size using the horizontal and vertical diameters. If both diameters are different, the GIF will be converted into an oval animation. If the diameters are equal, then the GIF will be converted into a perfect circle. To make the resulting round GIF stand out, you can also add an outline around it. You can choose the outline color and set its thickness in pixels. The outline will be the added to all GIF frames. To check the result, you can use the built-in GIF player, which repeatedly plays the GIF animation. The options panel also displays useful GIF info: the total frame count, current frame number, frame delay, original image dimensions, and the new dimensions after the circular cut. Gifabulous!

In this example, we create a round GIF of fried chicken pieces filling into a bucket. To achieve the largest possible circle crop, we leave the position and size options blank. This clever trick makes the tool to automatically expand the cropping area to the GIF's edges. As a result, the tool cuts the GIF background along the circle's line and generates a perfectly round animation. (Source: Pexels.)
In this example, we upload a sprite animation of Ohumein-Conga, a mid-boss from the Metal Slug 3 game. Ohumein-Conga is also known as simply Crab Konga because of its crab-like appearance. As the GIF has a transparent background, when converting it into a circular shape (with the size of 140×140 pixels, starting at the position x=13, y=0), it would be hard to see without extra enhancements (as the background is still transparent). To solve this, we and add a 6-pixel-wide dark brown border around the sprites to clearly define the round shape in all the frames. (Source: SNK.)
This example uses a static vertical GIF photo of a peaceful village trail surrounded by nature. Since the original GIF is tall and narrow, we adjust the horizontal and vertical diameters to different values. This creates an oval-shaped cutout instead of a circle. The final shape measures 640 pixels wide and 830 pixels tall, forming an elongated, rounded shape that matches the photo's proportions. (Source: Pexels.)
